CLOSE ORDER DRILL
Close order drill, or "Square Bashing" is one of the first important steps (what a sad, sad pun) that a new soldier takes in becoming part of a cohesive unit. It teaches the soldier how to follow instructions in minute detail, how to become part of a team, and how to quickly and efficiently move large bodies of soldiers from one point to another. The below document is the manual that all british soldiers would be familiar with after they've taken the king's shilling.
